Reclaimed overhaul their Vintage Saws and Plane

Our man Andy has undertaken a project to overhaul all our ‘old’ machinery in the workshop. This includes of saws and planer. WHY? Because the old machinery which is no longer available is far superior to anything available for sale as ‘new’ today, in short they hearld form a day when ‘they built things to last’. The overhaul includes the striping down and cleaning of all the parts, re-seating the bearing and checking over the gears for alignment, sourcing any parts required by scouring the length and breadth of the country. Then the re-assembly, after oiling. Finally Andy is giving each of our machines several coats of hammerite in British Racing Green and remounting the badges and emblems on to them.
We envisage another 50 years of happy machining our wood, thanks Andy, well done that man!!

Reclaimed have new Showrooms

Our new Reclaimed showrooms are under construction and are looking very good. Our man Andy has undertaken the contruction of new showrooms on an out of hours basis, ie. at the weekend and in the evenings. They illustrate how each of the various woods we stock looks in differently milled finishes and with various oils and varishes for flooring and other applications. These are mounted on the floor, the walls and even the ceiling; offering the customers a truly inspiring catalogue of what is possible with old reclaimed timbers. We will post some images soon.
